In 1982, two local business owners were able to purchase a ranch on the charming and historic River Road in Comal County, winding its' way along the Guadalupe River from the community of Sattler to New Braunfels. The Summit is near the 4th crossing, at the "top" of the Lower Guadalupe River. From that 800 acres of the original purchase, part was subdivided into a wonderful acreage community with oak-covered lots and stunning views of the Canyon Dam as well as the Guadalupe River Basin, and the rest has been turned into a resort.

The Summit Vacation Resort features condos, cabins, river access, several pools, a clubhouse, sports center, cafe, playgrounds, and an RV park with a stocked fishing pond, hiking trails, and activities planned regularly.
